Our telescoping lid and inner cover sets are handcrafted with select 3/4” pine and 1/4” plywood. Telescoping lids are covered with white PVC coated aluminum attached with stainless steel staples for rust-free service. Inner covers have a 71mm hole in the center perfect for jar feeders.
Both pieces use rabbeted joints assembled with Titebond III and medium crown staples on the lids and narrow crown staples on the inner covers. Once assembled we then submerge them in 300 degree wax for 10 minutes to boil out moisture and impregnate the wood and joints with wax, protecting it from the elements for many years to come.
Why Beekeepers Choose Wax-Dipped
Wax dipped equipment is ready to use requiring no painting, reduces long-term upkeep and provides a protective seal that penetrates deep into the wood grain and into the joints. The result is woodenware built to resist cracking, warping, and breakdown over years of exposure.
